"Numb/Encore" become the most successful single from the "Collision Course" album, going on to reach #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 on February 1, 2005.In the UK Singles Chart, "Numb/Encore" achieved the record for the longest stay in the top 20 without ever reaching the top 10. The song only peaked at 14 but managed to spend 53 weeks in the chart, 13 of them in the top 20.
